Issue 21: With Hope in Our Eyes (OTAKU Last Issue)

Welcome to the first issue of 2009! With this let me, on behalf of the Otaku team, wish you a super fantastical 2009. We hope this year has great opportunities for you, and that you grab hold of them and never let go. We also classically wish you LOVEu AND PEACEu!

So many things have happened in the last year, and I am very happy with how 2008 played off. We had many obstacles to overcome, and some of them paid their toll. So in writing this, I am very optimistic about the year to come and find out where life is taking us. OTAKU magazine will sadly be ending the way it is. We have considered other options, but this is unfortunately the way that we must go. I know you probably have no clue as to what I am talking about so page on a couple of pages – it is all explained there.

I had a great holiday and hope all of you did the same. Remember, work hard and play harder! We go into this year with new challenges and dreams. Please remember that you guys are why we do what we do, if it wasn’t for your support then we would just have been some otaku talking about the things they love, thank you for listening.

This issue was pulled off in remarkable time, seeing that most of these articles had to be handed in before the December holidays. We finished our Cosplay features for now and I am proud to see a lot of cosplayers at the events, a lot more than usual. Now we are looking at AMVs, and would love to see what you guys can come up with. Another article worth mentioning is the Macross Frontier article; we practically had most of the office work on that one. Macross is huge.

There are very unique articles in this issue. Baccano was great yet very different and will not appeal to all, but we covered it and a lot of other stuff. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this issue.

All the best to all of you!
